Ingredients:
2 tablespoons of He Shou Wu (Fo-Ti) root, dried and sliced
1 tablespoon of Polygonum multiflorum (Chinese knotweed)
1 tablespoon of Black sesame seeds
4 cups of water
Optional: A few drops of rosemary essential oil for added scent and scalp stimulation
Instructions:
Prepare the herbs: Rinse the dried He Shou Wu and Chinese knotweed to remove any dust or impurities.
Boil the mixture: In a saucepan, combine the herbs, black sesame seeds, and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
Simmer: Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for about 30 to 45 minutes until the water reduces by roughly half.
Strain: Remove the herbs by straining the liquid through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a clean container. Allow the rinse to cool to a comfortable temperature.
Add essential oil: Stir in rosemary essential oil if using.
Use: After shampooing, pour the herbal rinse slowly over your scalp and hair, massaging gently. Do not rinse out; let it air dry or style as usual.
